MD Research Scientist – Tulane University is seeking a Medical Research Scientist for a leadership role in a National Institutes of Health 4-year project to study the epidemiology and clinical patterns of HIV and SIV viruses in persons in Kumba, Cameroon and surrounding areas. The chosen candidate will work with the Principal Investigator (PI), Co-Investigator and Consultants and will supervise the field team in sampling and clinical data collection activities. This field research will involve traveling in the Kumba area to obtain samples from human subjects and working with local public health officials. He/she will provide data, progress reports and other information relevant to the project. Minimum qualifications include: MD with experience in Tropical Medicine, Infectious Disease, Public Health or relevant field. Knowledge of French helpful but not essential, Kumba is in Anglophone Cameroon. Must be willing to relocate to Kumba, Cameroon for the length of the project.
