Cameroon Jobs
Global Fund Technical Advisor - Cameroon

Closing date: 20 Apr 2010

Location: Cameroon

The Clinton Foundation HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI) is looking for a technical advisor to assist the government of Cameroon address a significant funding shortfall in its HIV programming, and to provide technical assistance in optimizing use of financial resources available for HIV/AIDS. Cameroon has made significant progress in scaling up HIV treatment, but faces significant challenges in securing sufficient funding to ensure the continuity and further scale-up of HIV care and treatment.

CHAI works in close partnership with the Ministry of Health (MOH) in Cameroon, procuring pediatric and second line ARVs, and providing technical assistance in a variety of areas. The Technical Advisor will provide critical support in the quantification and mapping of funding needs and available resources, helping the government of Cameroon identify funding gaps and access additional resources. The Technical Advisor will also help the National AIDS Control Board prepare for the next round of Global Fund applications in mid-2010, working to identify priorities, align stakeholders behind those, and developing the required analysis to back-up the funding submission. The technical advisor will be working very closely with the Ministry of Public Health as well as the National AIDS Control Board, and cooperating on a regular basis with donors, NGOs and civil society. Learnings and experience from the work in Cameroon will be leveraged in other countries where CHAI operates, and the Technical Advisor may be called on to support similar efforts in other countries on an occasional basis.
