The U. S. Embassy in Yaoundé is seeking an individual for the position of Motor Pool Supervisor.
Basic function of position:
The Motor Pool Supervisor supervises 2 Dispatchers, 20 Drivers, 3 Automotive Mechanics, 1 Automotive Mechanic Foreman, 1 Electrical Contractor and 1 Air-Conditioner Contractor. Incumbent prepares Cost and Utilization Reports for 53 Vehicles, 2 forklifts and 6 motorcycles and generators. Duties include preparing the Fleet Summary Report; preparing Motor Vehicles Reports on new vehicles, Vehicles Disposal Reports and property disposal authorizations and bills for the sale of all vehicles disposed; receiving and preparing request for travel authorization, fuel coupons and petty cash advances for drivers trips; supervising the Motor Pool Section which involves preparing employees’ evaluation reports, preparing requests for overtime work, airport transportation, special programs and other back-ups, preparing annual leave schedule for employees under incumbent’s supervision.

1. Education: Completion of Secondary School (“A” Level or Baccalauréat) is required.
2. Experience: Three years prior transportation management work experience including one year in supervising a motor pool section in an international organization or large local institution is required.
3. Language: Level III (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing English and level III (Good Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing French are required and will be tested.
4. Job Knowledge: Applicant must have good knowledge of Cameroonian traffic laws, good knowledge of vehicle maintenance and good knowledge of the use of illustration and parts catalogs. Good knowledge of automotive operation, safety and maintenance practices is required. Job knowledge will be tested.
5. Skills/Abilities: Incumbent must have practical knowledge of the use of internet, email, and MS Office (“Word” and “Excel”). Incumbent must have a valid driver’s license. Skills and abilities will be tested.
When fully qualified, U.S. Citizen Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) and U.S. Veterans are given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate specifically address the required qualifications above in the application.
ADDITIONAL SELECTION CRITERIA:
1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy.
2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
3. Current Ordinarily Resident employees with an Overall Summary Rating of Needs Improvement or Unsatisfactory on their most recent Employee Performance Report are not eligible to apply.
4. Currently employed U.S. Citizen EFMs who hold a Family Member Appointment (FMA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
5. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
6. The candidate must be able to obtain and hold a Locally Employed Staff security clearance.
